I'm open to any suggestions at this we are running various drivers (again not setup to a print server) with users running PCL 6 drivers on Windows 7 64 AND 32-bit, as well as PCL6 for the few XP users. The only time it did not take forever to spool was when we were directly connected with the tech's I'll give this a shot and will get back to you. It's a main production printer so I don't want to reset it just yet.the issue is mainly with large files but the day-to-day printouts are running We have taken the same document and printed it from multiple computers. The tech we had has been here before and is knowledgeable with this unit so if that would have worked, I'm sure he would have tried it. I'll check the menus and see if I can figure out the export and settings. Until then, I definitely want to try the suggestions given to see if I can determine the I don't have the configs exported and the tech wasn't on site today-it was a few weeks ago before the holidays.

Ironically, our rep had a meeting here today regarding this printer, and it looks like we're getting a new unit as early as the end of this week or next. I just don't know why it takes so long to spool and print these documents. Our primary domain controller is Win 2008 Server, and the backup is 2003-neither of which have the printer installed. I'm fairly confident it is not the network, but I'm open to other suggestions. I wanted to see if anyone had a similar issue and might be able to thrown me a suggestion I haven't already tried. The technician left with the open ended "I'll check with few of the more seasoned guys" and we still haven't heard back. Sent the exact SAME print job to another Ricoh (C300) that printed almost INSTANTLY over the network and same switch. I'll save some time and discuss what the Ricoh technician and I have already attempted:Ĭrossover cable will print documents a bit more quickly, however when I did a patch cable this evening it still took some time to process.Ĭhanged the switch that port is connected to. Tl dr large docs take a long time to spool and print.

We have not made any changes that we are aware of because this was not always the case. When it gets to the graphic, it may take several minutes to spool on the end-user's computer. a 6MB 2010 Word doc with an image from a Win 7 computer) it will immediate spit out the first, text-only page. No print server (handled locally at the end-user and printer levels)Īnytime a large file is sent to the printer (e.g. Gigabit Network (but Ricoh has 10/100 NIC)
